Welcome to the Aliso Canyon Chapter DAR
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer service organization made up of approximately 175,000 members with 3,000 chapters. These chapters are located in all fifty states and in many countries around the world. On October 11, 1890, eighteen women met to officially organize the NSDAR for historic, educational, and patriotic purposes. Since that day, over 800,000 members have been admitted into membership.
We are actively recruiting new members who enjoy our variety of opportunities to use their skills, make friendships, and be part of a service oriented women’s society. Most of our 35+ members reside in California, and we welcome the family members who qualify for admission from other states as well. Any woman 18 years or older-regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background-who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. Our members volunteer hundreds of hours of service to include: support to our community veterans and active service men and women, fundraising for historical preservation projects within our community, and providing scholarship awards to local students and donations to underserved school children.
